Important Safeguards
Read and follow all directions and warnings before using this product.

WarnIngS – General:
1. Failure to comply with all directions and warning may result in injury or death;
use only as directed.
2. This product is not suitable for all individuals. Other devices may be required.
3. Inspect the product for damage before each use and do not use it if it appears to
be damaged or not functioning properly.
4. Never alter the product in any way.
5. This product is designed for indoor use only within close proximity to
skilled caregivers.

Warning – This cushion is designed for use in compatible wheelchairs only, as
an arm and elbow rest for support of a resident’s anterior posture and as a limited,
soft work or eating area. Other equipment may be required. This may include, but is
not limited to:
1. Resident monitoring devices for elopement prevention.
2. Other devices as specified by the caregiver.

Warning – This cushion is NEVER to be used as a restraint. This product is NOT
intended to prevent a resident or patient from falling or sliding out of a wheelchair.
•
Warning – Do not use the product if the resident has difficulty breathing or is able
to slide forward or underneath the product. Prior to each use:
• Ensure that the lap cushion is appropriate for the wheelchair’s width. Never use a
lap cushion on a wheelchair that is too wide or narrow for the cushion.
• Ensure that the resident is not being pinched or restrained by the lap cushion.
•
Warning – Do not use this product with residents who are aggressive, combative,
suicidal or who have severe emotional, psychological or physical problems.
•
Warning – Do not use the product for long periods at a time, with obese residents
or with those who are unable to sit upright on their own.
