Belt Adjustment
1. Remove cover from rear of engine to expose belt. Check
adjustment of belt guide rod. Rod should be just touching the
belt (see Figure 5).
2. Run tiller in dirt and watch top drive pulley and belt for
slipping.
3. Adjust cable tension by loosening the jam nuts either at the
upper handle position or at the lower end behind the belt (see
Figure 6). Tighten cable 1/8 inch at a time until belt stops
slipping.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN BELT
Over tightening the belt will cause the
belt to not disengage.
4. An A25 27” V-Belt is the only belt that will work correctly on
this equipment. If the belt is larger or smaller in size, you will
not be able to correctly tension the drive belt.
