ppli

ppli are software applications that run on i-mode

compatible handsets. You can automatically receive
updated stock prices, weather information, etc., and
play games without being connected to the network,
by downloading i-

ppli from i-mode sites.

The FOMA terminal supports i-

ppli online that

enables many-to-many online communication via
real-time communication or i-

ppli call (p.296).

Some i-

ppli support i-Widget (p.300).

Packet communications charges will apply.

Packet communications charges incurred overseas
differ from those in Japan.

Downloading i-

ppli from

Sites

Download up-to-2M-byte i-

ppli from an i-mode site

and activate it on the FOMA terminal.

Up to 200 downloaded i-

ppli can be stored. The

maximum number of i-

ppli that can be stored

varies depending on the data size. The number
includes partly-downloaded i-

ppli.

Select i-

ppli

The message “Download completed” appears.
i-

ppli that immediately starts from the site starts

without displaying the message.

Downloading mail-linked i-

ppli

When you download mail-linked i-

ppli, an i-

ppli

mail folder is automatically created in the Inbox or
Outbox folder. The name of the downloaded mail-
linked i-

ppli will be the folder name and cannot be

changed. Up to 5 mail-linked i-

ppli can be stored.

Mail sent and received using mail-linked i-

ppli is

automatically sorted into a mail-linked i-

ppli folder.

You can also manually sort received mail.

You cannot download mail-linked i-

ppli in the

following cases:

• There are already 5 folders dedicated to mail-

linked i-

ppli

• Mail-linked i-

ppli using the same folder is

already stored

• Mail box lock is set

Some i-

ppli may automatically establish a

communication after downloaded. “Network set”
under “Software setting” is available to disable
automatic communication.

If you download i-

ppli that uses the terminal data

(the stored information or mobile phone/FOMA
Card (UIM) serial number information) or i-

ppli

DX, a message appears notifying that the i-

ppli

uses the terminal data. When you select “YES”,
your terminal information is sent to the IP
(information service provider) via the Internet and
may be disclosed to a third party as a result.

Even if space is available to store software, you
may not be able to download individual Osaifu-
Keitai i-

ppli depending on the size of the IC card

data. Follow the on-screen instructions, delete the
displayed i-

ppli and download again. You may

not be able to delete downloaded i-

ppli

depending on the type. Some i-

ppli will be

deleted after you activate the i-

ppli and delete

the IC card data.

When 2in1 is in B mode, the activation
confirmation screen may not appear after
download, depending on the i-
