Installation and operating instructions
DMCB 2 ASA operating current trip
These installation and operating instructions are aimed at electrically skilled per
-
sons. The installation of devices of this type is not appropriate for electrical layper
-
sons due to the considerable potential dangers. These installation and operating
instructions must be retained, so that they can be referred to at a later stage.
Intended use
The DMCB 2 ASA operating current trip is a remote trip that works according to the
operating current principle. The modular DIN rail component is designed for mount
-
ing on DIN rails for retrofitting on DMCB 2 series miniature circuit-breakers.
Warning
Devices with visible damage must not be installed or used.
Function
When voltage within the permissible range is applied, the operating current trip
activates immediately and trips the internally connected DMCB 2 miniature circuit-
breaker. After a trip the DMCB 2 ASA also interrupts the supply to its own magnetic
trip coil, thus preventing the tripping device from experiencing a thermal overload in
the event of continuous trip commands. The switch levers of the DMCB 2 ASA operat
-
ing current trip and of the DMCB 2 series miniature circuit-breaker are mechanically
coupled, so that the toggle of the DMCB 2 is included when switching on and off. If the
DMCB 2 is manually switched off, the DMCB 2 ASA trips mechanically even without a
control voltage. In the event of an electrical trip of the DMCB 2, the DMCB 2 ASA also
trips mechanically internally. The trip-free mechanism of the DMCB 2 ASA ensure
safe function if the toggle is mechanically hindered.
Mounting
The operating current trip must always be mounted by sliding it to the left on the
DMCB 2 miniature circuit-breaker on a DIN rail. The trip is removed by sliding it to the
right. The connection must be made in accordance with the wiring diagram.

Warranty
All professionally installed, unaltered devices are covered by warranty during the
statutory warranty period from the day of purchase by the end user. The warranty
is not applicable to damage incurred during transport or caused by short-circuit,
overloading or improper use. In the event of defects in workmanship or material,
which are discovered within the warranty period, the company will provide repair or
replacement free of charge. The warranty will be rendered null and void if the device
is opened without authorisation.
