FIRE DOOR OPERATION
NORMAL – SLIDING MECHANISM
In this mode, the door leaves are locked and cannot be opened; the door works like a regular sliding door .
The mechanical redundant unit is under tension .
THE TRANSITION FROM SLIDING TO FIRE OPERATION
In case of emergency, i .e . fire signal actuation, network supply failure or automatic door system
malfunction, the door unconditionally closes through the potential energy stored in the mechanical
redundant unit . At the same time, the tensioned springs of upper actuator unblock the door leaves and the
tensioned springs of lower actuator locks release the geared plugs that block the sliding of the door leaves .
After this process, a passage through the door is enabled .
OPERATION IN THE FIRE MODE (300 EF ONLY)
In this mode, the sliding of the door is blocked; the operation corresponds to a swing fire door operation .
The opening is performed manually with a touch bar in the direction of escape and hook in the opposite
direction . The door closing is performed with the synchronic self-lock of the two-leaf door .
THE TRANSITION FROM FIRE TO SLIDING OPERATION
The procedure starts when the fire door is switched back to power supply or the WAKE BUTTON is
pressed . The procedure starts only if the fire signal is not triggered . The EC4 f door controller switches on
the retracting motor for spring tensioning . When the springs are tensioned the retracting motor is switched
off and the electromagnetic brake is turned on, keeping the springs tensioned . The electro
mechanic actuators are activated . The door controller EC4 f activates the automatic sliding door
mechanism . After these steps, the procedure from chapter FIRST STARTUP point 7 continues and the
doors operate normally - sliding .
