Storage Information
Before Storage
Before storing your lift truck, clean and inspect as
the following procedures.
y
Wipe away grease, oil, etc. adhering to the
body of the truck with waste cloth, and use
water, if needed.
y
While cleaning the truck, check general
condition of the truck. Especially check the
truck body for dents or damage and tires for
wear or nails or stones in the tread.
y
Fill the fuel tank with fuel specified.
y
Check for leakage of hydraulic oil, engine oil,
fuel, or coolant, etc.
y
Apply grease, where needed.
y
Check for looseness of nuts and bolts,
especially hub nuts.
y
Check mast rollers to see that they rotate
smoothly.
y
Prime the oil into the lift cylinders by actuating
the lift lever all the way several times.
y
Drain off coolant completely in cold weather, if
antifreeze is not used.
Long Time Storage
Perform the following service and checks in addition
to the “Parking the lift truck” services.
y
Taking the rainy season into consideration,
park the machine at a higher and hard ground.
y
Avoid parking on soft grounds such as an
asphalt ground in summer.
y
Dismount the battery from the machine. Even
though the machine is parked indoors, if the
place is hot or humid, the battery should be
kept in a dry, cool place. Charge the battery
once a month.
y
Apply antirust to the exposed parts which tend
to rust.
y
Cover components such as the breather and
air cleaner which may be caught with humidity.
y
The machine should be operated at least once
a week. Fill the cooling system, if cooling water
is discharged, and mount the battery. Start the
engine and warm up thoroughly. Move the
machine a little forwards and backwards.
Operate the hydraulic controls several times.
To Operate the Lift Truck after a
Long Time Storage
y
Remove covers and antirust from each of the
components and exposed parts.
