Startup and Shutdown
When replenishing engine oil, do not exceed the maximum on the oil
level gauge. Too much oil may cause damage to the engine.
Initial Startup and Shutdown Procedure.
Procedure for Startup
Perform the following actions when starting the compressor for the first time:
Ensure that the compressor is on a level surface. (if the compressor is on an uneven surface,
the fluid sight gauge readings will not be accurate, and will not be possible to determine
if fluid levels are to low.)
Ensure that a minimum clearance of 3 feet is provided all the way around the compressor
to allow exhaust gas to ventilate before operating the compressor. Failure to ventilate hot
exhaust gases can result in improper functioning compressor and the heat build-up can result
in melting rubber and or plastic components.
1. Before starting an engine, check the levels of fuel, coolant, and oil. Replenish those
fluids if required.
2. Ensure engine oil level is between the upper and lower limit of the oil level gauge.
The upper and lower limit of the oil level gauge indicate the maximum and minimum
of the engine oil level.
3. Be careful not to mix foreign substances in fuel, engine oil, or coolant while injecting
the fluid. Keep the fluid clean while it is not in use. Use fuel, oil, and coolant
recommended by Doosan. Otherwise, critical damage to the engine may occur.
4. Fill the fuel tank (describe in Lifting, Transporting and Preparation), and drain water
from the fuel/water separator.
