DESCRIPTION
The Neptune Series HGS high-viscosity gear drive mixer is designed to
mount on the standard 2” bung of a 55 gallon closed steel drum. The
rugged 430 rpm gearbox provides plenty of torque to permit mixing of
high viscosity or shear sensitive fluids. The 30” long 316SS shaft
includes six fixed paddles and a folding propeller that fits through the 2”
bung and opens to 3.75“ when the mixer is operating.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
This mixer requires only minimal assembly. The gear
reducer is factory-filled with SAE 40 weight oil however
you should check oil level prior to operating mixer.
1. Insert the end of the shaft with a flat into the
coupling and tighten the set screws.
2. Attach the propeller to the end of shaft.
3. The motor must be installed, wired and properly
fused by qualified personnel in accordance with the
latest local and national electrical codes.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make certain that all hardware on the mixer is
completely tightened before operating the mixer.
2. Screw the adapter securely into the 2” NPT bung
prior to operating the mixer.
3. Note that folding propeller blades will lift up and
open to 3.75” when the mixer is operating.
4. A filter/regulator should be used with air motors.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always follow these operating instructions fully. Failure to do
so could result in serious bodily injury!
1. Do not touch moving parts or attempt to make
adjustments while the mixer is operating!
2. Make certain the mixer is properly grounded!
3. Always wear appropriate safety equipment including
face protection when removing the mixer or moving it to
another drum!
4. Air motors are designed to be driven by compressed
air only and under no circumstances be driven with any
other gases!
5. Always disconnect and lockout electric power or air
supply before servicing mixer!
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Periodically check and tighten the set screws as necessary.
