Stuck logs
If the log gets stuck on the wedge, fi rst make
sure to release the pressure between the
log and the log pusher. Release the push
button and the guide lever and allow the log
pusher to move all the way back to the start
position. Place a piece of split wood under
the log as a wedge, which the log pusher can
press forward.
Press the push button and operate the guide
lever and allow the log pusher to press the
wooden wedge forward, so that the log
is lifted. Repeat with a larger piece of split
wood as a wedge until the log is free of the
wedge on the log splitter.
Do NOT push the log and do not use a
crowbar or similar as leverage to force the
log off the wedge on the log splitter!
Maintenance of the log splitter
The hydraulic cylinder piston should be
wiped with a clean oily cloth. The other parts
of the log splitter should be wiped or washed
with a mild detergent, but should not be
fl ushed with a water hose or high-pressure
washer. Wipe with a dry cloth afterwards.
Exposed parts of the log splitter can be
wiped with an oily cloth to prevent rust.
Sharpening the wedge
Following a period of use or as required, the
wedge should be sharpened using a metal
fi le to remove any burrs or fl at areas from the
edge.
