Saw the log into smaller
pieces before trying to split
it again.
The log splitter is leaking oil. Find the leak and seek
professional advice.
The maximum pressure
has fallen, because the
sealed screw for setting
the maximum pressure has
been moved.

The piston moves with a
jerky movement, makes an
abnormal sound or vibrates
a lot.
There is not enough oil in
the hydraulic system.
Check the hydraulic oil level.
There is air in the hydraulic
system.
Contact a professional.
Oil is leaking at or around
the cylinder or elsewhere.
There is air in the hydraulic
system.
Loosen the vent screw to
bleed the system before
starting the motor.
The oil bung has not been
closed completely before
the log splitter was moved
or lifted.
Tighten the oil bung.
The hydraulic control box
and/or hydraulic seals are
worn.
