Preparation for use
5.1.
Pre Operational Checks
• Check pressure gauge reading ensuring fully pressurized cylinder (i.e. 200bar). Gauge
needle shall be inside the green segment of the gauge face.
•
Check that anti-tamper tag on lid of bag is intact.
5.2.
Use
Donning of Equipment
• Place neck strap of the carrying bag over head and adjust strap until equipment sits
in centre of chest.
IN AN EMERGENCY
•
Grip the yellow loop on the lid of the zip of the carrying bag and pull firmly in the
direction to open the zip to break the anti tampering seal. This action will also activate
the air flow to the hood.
• Immediately remove hood from the carrying bag.
Safety Warning: Duration of equipment begins from the time of air supply valve
activation and not from the time of wearing hood.
• Grip both flaps sides of the base of the hood and lift the hood above the head, pull
the hood over the head locating the half mask over the hose and mouth. Breathe
normally and immediately leave the hazardous area by short and safest escape route
.
Important Note: Spectacles wearers should stretch neck seal over spectacles.
5.3.
After Use
Safety Warning: Do not remove equipment until in safe area and clear of hazard unless
compressed air from the cylinder is finished . A whistle warning unit sounds at the end
of rated duration.
• When in a safe environment, or when air is finished, remove the hood then take off
the equipment.
Note: Do not drop or throw down equipment. Damage could occur.
