CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
10.3.1.
Cleaning and disinfecting of the mask
The mask must be cleaned and disinfected after each use.
The exhalation valve groups can be taken apart and cleaned up separately; in
such case repeat the leak tightness test after reassembling.
The exhalation valve group can be cleaned separately; in this case repeat the
leakage test after reassembling.
Washing: place the mask in light neutral detergent water solution (D.P.I.
recommended detergent cod. 4437.0370) and wash thoroughly; rinse it in warm
water and dry on air.
Disinfection: use a water solution with 2% in volume Disinfectant (cod. 4437
0360). Place entirely the mask in the solution and rinse it plenty with warm
water and allow to air dry.
None of the parts in rubber, synthetic resin, metal, etc. that compose the mask
will be damaged from a correct treatment with the solution at the temperature
of 35 ± 5° C.
10.3.2.
Cleaning of the demand valve and restoration of the “Ready for use"
condition
Normally to clean the demand valve it is enough to remove the protective
rubber cover and wash it with warm water and neutral detergent. Clean the
demand valve carefully with a dry and soft cloth.
Finally reassemble the protective rubber cover, put the rubber matching cut on
demand valve rib near medium pressure hose.
If the device needs to be more deeply cleaned, the demand valve must be
disassembled and each component cleaned. Although this activity can be
performed manually and without special tools, It requires to be carried out by
expert personnel. To receive necessary information please contact the D.P.I.
Before having the device ready to use, the demand valve must be put in stand-
by condition.
