equipment manufactured by D.P.I. s.r.l. Technical alterations of the escABEK escape respirator are not allowed.

Before using escABEK escape respirators, users must ensure that all the instructions in this manual are read, understood
and followed.
1.2
escABEK escape respirators have been specifically designed for the use described in this manual.
1.3
The D.P.I. s.r.l. standard warranty indicates the full extent of the liability of D.P.I. s.r.l.. D.P.I. s.r.l. will not accept liability
for any damages caused if:
a)
checks on the integrity of the container and of the seal have not been carried out periodically and in any case before use;
b)
the respirator has been tampered or not stored according to the conditions indicated in this manual;
c)
the respirator has not been used properly.
1.4
D.P.I. s.r.l. will not accept liability for any damages caused by failure to abide by the aforementioned provisions.

For everything which has not been mentioned above, the general conditions of this warranty apply. In the event that you
don’t know the conditions of the contract, D.P.I. s.r.l. will send further information upon written request.
This instruction manual provides information on the use of escABEK self rescue escape respirator, helping to prevent risks to the
respiratory tracts due to the exposure to toxic substances (gases, vapours and dusts) eventually present in the surrounding
atmosphere. Filtering respirators are devices subject to limited time duration of protection and provide protection against specific
toxic substances in specific conditions of use explained in the present manual. Pay also special attention to the correct storage
conditions of the device.
Comply with Laws, Norms and regulations in force in the specific country of use of the respirator concerning respiratory protective
devices.
2.
Field of application
escABEK is a self rescue respirator assuring a high level of protection of the respiratory tract against various gases of the A, B, E
and K class, and against aerosol and vapours according to P2 class.
The escABEK P3 version is a self rescue respirator assuring protection of the respiratory tract also against gasses in class 1 for B, E
and K type, and against aerosol and vapours according to P3 class.
The range of temperatures of use is from -10°C to +50°C.

Components
escABEK is made up of the following components:

Mouthpiece equipped with noseclip and PTFE hood completely transparent
•
ABEK filter

tested for A, B, E and K types according to the Standard DIN 58647-7:1997 for filtering escape devices. It is
classified as class 15 minutes, and particle filter as class P2
–
ABEK P2 15 version

tested for A, B,E and K types according to the Standard DIN 58647-7:1997 for filtering escape devices. It is
classified as class 15 minutes. In addition it is tested according to Standard EN 14387:04+A1:08 against B, E and
K gas types in class 1, and particle filter as class P3
–
ABEK P3 15 version

synthetic resin sealed container for the device to be carried on the belt. It can also be hung on the wall ready for use in
case of emergency;

The device case is equipped with a metallic hook to belt-carry or hang on the wall escABEK, ready for use, as an alternative to
storing the device in its box.
