Repair and maintenance
Changing lamps and starters
Remove the main plug before any maintenance work!
The tanning equipment can be operated for many years
with correct use. The lamps have a very long usage period.
In the event that the intensity of the radiation weakens
then this can be strengthened again by exchanging the
UVA low-pressure lamps and the face-tanning lamp.
In the event that a lamp should fail the acrylic sheet must
be removed from the upper or lower section. In order to do
this the surrounding cover must be removed on one side
of the equipment. The acrylic sheet can then be pushed
along in order to free the sheet on the side where the
surround is still fitted.
The acrylic sheets are fitted into the receiver slot of the
longitudinal spar with initial tension. However if the sheet
is push simultaneously backwards and downwards in the
centre of the sheet (upwards for the upper section) towards
the lamps then the sheet is released from the front longi-
tudinal spar and can thus be removed (figure 21).

Try to solve a possible contact problem by gently turning
the defective lamp backwards and forwards. If this is not
successful then there many be a lamp or starter defect,
which can be determined easily by yourself or by an
electrician:
Turn the corresponding lamp 90°, so that it can be removed
from the mounting. When inserting the new lamp first insert
the lower pins, then pass the upper pins into the mounting
and turn the lamp 90°.
In the event that the supposedly defective lamp functions
in another position then the defect could be in the starters.
This can also be tested by carrying out an exchange.
Remove the starter by gently turning it to the left. Insert
the new starter by turning to the right.
Then clean all the lamps and the acrylic glass sheet with
a soft cloth and re-insert the sheet.
