4 The venting system
WARNING:
DO NOT INSTALL A MANUAL DAMPER ON THIS FURNACE.
CAUTION: BEFORE THE CONNECTOR PIPES ARE INSTALLED, MAKE SURE THAT
THE EXHAUST PIPE AND / OR THE EXCHANGERS OF THE FURNACE ARE FREE OF
ALL ITEMS.
4.1 The chimney
- The furnace must be connected to a factory-built metal chimney that complies with UL
103 HT (USA) or ULC S629 (Canada).

Strongly recommended inner diameter
:
6" (152 mm).
o
A chimney having a diameter of more than 7" (178 mm) is permitted, if it allows
the proper venting of combustion gases and that such application is verified and
authorized by a qualified installer. Otherwise, the diameter of the flue must be
reduced to 6" (152 mm) by the use of a stainless steel liner made for this
purpose.
4.1.1 Factory-built metal chimneys
To be suitable, a factory-built metal chimney also called “high temp” chimney, must comply
with UL 103 HT (U.S.A.) or ULC S629 (Canada).

Use only components intended for the
brand and model of chimney you are
using.

Never substitute parts from other
chimney brands.

Never fabricate your own components.

The chimney must be a type suitable
for solid fuel.

To be safe and effective, the chimney
must be installed exactly in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions.
