6.2 The exhaust pipe / Flue collar
The recommended exhaust pipe inner diameter
is 6" (152 mm). If an increaser / reducer
must be used (max 6" (152 mm) to 7" (178 mm)), it must be installed as close as possible
to the chimney.
6.2.1
Installation code requirements

Where passage through a wall or partition of combustible construction is desired, the
installation shall conform to CAN/CSA-B365, «

•
A flue pipe must never pass through a combustible floor or ceiling or through an attic,
roof space, closet or concealed space.
•
A minimum upward slope of 1/4 in per ft. (20 mm/m) must be respected on the
horizontal length towards the chimney
•
The maximum horizontal run is 10’ (3 m). Do not count the starting elbow;
•
All flue pipe joints must be secured with three screws. Failure to secure them to each
other may cause a fire;
