General instructions for use
31
The room-air-independent variant of the stove complies with the
DIN 18897-1 FC61x standard.
Fireplaces of this standard must be connected to their own suitable chimney.
Multiple occupancy has not been checked.
The requirements for installation rooms and the specification of rooms that are not suitable for
the installation of fireplaces can be found in the applicable fire regulations for each German
federal state (FeuVO).
The tightness and design of the chimney and the combustion air duct must correspond to the
current state of the art and be carried out professionally.
In the case of fireplaces installed according to variant type FC61x, a leak test must be carried out
on the entire system after assembly (for example, via the flue pipe, a pressure test or negative
pressure measurement).
If a shut-off damper is used in the flue gas system, it must be kept in the ‘open’ position while the
fireplace is in use and while cleaning the air grilles.
In the event of a soot fire, the system must subsequently be tested for leaks, and we recommend
changing all seals either way.
The fireplace is tested for leaks at the factory and the corresponding certificate is enclosed with
the stove.
The firebox door must always be locked during operation and may only be opened to add fuel.
1.9 Safety notes
Read this instruction manual carefully before operating the stove to learn how to use it safely.
Please also refer to the model-specific ‘Technical Information’ data sheet.
When setting up, connecting and operating the stove, it is essential to comply with all national
and European standards, in addition to all local and building regulations and fire regulations.
If in doubt, please contact your specialist retailer or local chimney sweep.
Check once again that the stove is connected to the chimney in accordance with the regulations.
The surfaces of your stove become very hot during operation. Please pay special attention to your
duty of care towards children, disabled people, and pets.
Ensure that no flammable materials are near or on the stove during operation.
Always keep your firebox door closed, even when the stove is not in use.
Avoid overloading your stove by using too much fuel or positioning the air slide incorrectly, as this
can damage your stove and chimney.
You will lose all warranty claims if the stove overheats!
Never use spirits, petrol or other flammable and unauthorised substances to light the stove.
There must be no objects made of flammable materials in the vicinity of the glass window.
The exact distance can be found in the model-specific ‘Technical Information’ data sheet.
