OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
EnvIROnMEnT
Heating with wood reduces air pollution because wood is simply stored up solar energy.
If it is properly operated, your stove will always comply easily with even the strictest Euro-
pean regulations. However, this is largely dependent on the way you use it and on the
type of fuel you burn. Always adhere to this instruction booklet. Burn only well seasoned
wood or (if approved) lignite briquettes.
Do not just use the air slides to control the heat emitted by the stove, but vary the
amount of fuel you burn according to your needs.
MAInTEnAnCE
Good care and maintenance are essential to ensure the long life span and efficient function
of your stove. We recommend that you have your stove checked once a year by a qualified
heating engineer. Your dealer will also be pleased to do this on request.
CARE AnD ClEAnInG
Clean your stove only after it has cooled down completely and contains no hot embers
or ash.

Cleaning the glass surfaces
DROOFF stoves are designed in such a way that the secondary air blows the smoke away from
the inside of the glass. If the stove has been correctly installed, the chimney conditions
are suitable and the correct type of fuel is used, the inside of the glass will require very little
cleaning. However, slight clouding cannot always be avoided. On the other hand, if the wood is
not dry enough or the chimney draught not strong enough the glass will soon be coated with
soot. The glass surfaces are easiest to clean with a dry soft cloth or if necessary, mild glass
cleaning fluid.
Do not clean the glass window with abrasive materials or scraping tools. This may cause hair
line cracks to develop in which soot will accumulate which is difficult to remove.
Very stubborn dirt can be removed with special stove glass cleaners which are available from
your dealer.
