Sample the ambient air. The histogram distribution should show a smooth transition of
particle counts from small to large bins (Figure 14.) Small “bumps” in the distribution are
normal. If you see an uneven distribution of particles around 110 nm and/or 215 nm (Figure
15), this is usually an indication that calibration is needed. The anomalies are near the
calibration curve’s gain-overlap regions, which need to be “stitched” together more
accurately.
