Settings for CH and DHW
11.A
Operating modes for CH and DHW
The DucoBox Eco has various operating modes to set water temperature for central heating (CH) and tap water / domestic hot
water (DHW) The
AUTO
mode is activated for both as standard The modes for CH and DHW can be changed independently of each
other
The DucoBox Eco target water temperature will be described from here on in this document as the ‘setpoint temperature’
The following operating modes are available:
Modus
Operation
AUTO
(= standard)
The DucoBox Eco controls the setpoint temperature:
→ For CH: via heating curve settings
→ For DHW: keep to COMFORT temperature continuously, or switch between ECO and COMFORT tempera-
tures based on a timer programme
The auto mode remains active until the user activates a different mode
BOOST
The setpoint temperature is set temporarily (up to a maximum of 8 hours) at a higher temperature (
BOOST
TEMPERATURE
):
→ This is useful for CH (60 °C max.) whenever a higher heating temperature is desired temporarily, which
can heat up a room faster for example Note that the heating temperature can be limited by a mixing valve
before the CH circuit Please contact your installer for more information
→ This is useful for DHW (80 °C max.) whenever a high draw demand is expected (many hot showers in
succession for example)
The DucoBox Eco will activate AUTO automatically after 8 hours unless the user him/herself activates a diffe-
rent mode
OFF
The setpoint temperature will be set permanently to a lower temperature (the OFF TEMPERATURE), a 10 °C
minimum This is useful if the occupant is away for an extended period (eg on holiday) By setting a low set-
point temperature, the DucoBox Eco will not generate any unnecessary heat and hence operate very energy-ef-
ficiently
Once activated, the OFF mode remains active until the user activates a different mode
IMPORTANT
For the system to operate with the highest possible energy-efficiency, Duco recommends adjusting the
AUTO
mode settings for CH (heating curve) and DHW (COMFORT-ECO programme) in line with the home, the delivery
system and the occupants’ wishes. Please refer to the instructions further on in this manual for this.
The standard settings for
BOOST
and
OFF
modes will suffice for many homes but can be altered for specific situati-
ons as desired.
Activating a mode
The desired mode can be activated via the
CONTROL
→
CENTRAL HEATING
and
CONTROL
→
DOMESTIC HOT WATER
menus
