INSTALLATION
LOCATING THE FIREPLACE
When selecting a location for your fireplace,
ensure that the clearances are met.
1.
This application must be installed in an
open-air situation with natural ventila
-
tion, without stagnant areas, where gas
leakage and products of combustion are
rapidly dispersed.
2.
Awnings, furnishings, fabrics and other
decorative items, when placed above
or near the appliance will be subject to
radiant heat and could become damaged.
3.
Locate the fireplace were it will be shielded
from excessive winds and away from
trees, shrubs, landscaping and over
-
growth.
4.
Typically an outdoor space is not enclosed
but, any enclosure in which the appliance
is used shall comply with one of the fol
-
lowing:
•
An enclosure with walls on all sides
but at least one permanent opening
at ground level and no overhead
cover.
•
Within a partial enclosure that includes
an overhead cover and no more than
two walls
•
Within a partial encloser that includes
an overhead cover and more than two
walls, the following shall apply:
At least 25% of the total wall area is com
-
pletely open, and
At least 30% of the remaining wall area is
open and unrestricted.
Screened Porch Installation
The fireplace may be installed safely in a
screened porch.
Minimum Porch Area 96 sq. feet (9 sq m)
Minimum Ceiling Height 92" (234 cm)
High Altitudes
For altitudes/elevations above 2,000 feet
(610 m), ratings should be reduced at the
rate of 4% for each 1,000 feet (305 m) above
sea level. Contact the manufacturer of your
gas company before changing orifice size.
CHECK GAS TYPE
Be sure your gas supply is right for your
fireplace. Otherwise, call dealer where you
bought the fireplace for proper type fireplace.
