7-4. Checking the Bound State
Check the sample sets after adjustment.
When paper alignment is poor
Adjust the side jogger and back jogger again. (
Refer to page 43.)
Check the height of the side stitching guide.
If the guide is too high, paper may ride onto the side stitching stopper.
If too low, paper alignment may deteriorate due to resistance.
When stitched sets are not ejected to the side stitching stacker smoothly
Are the folding side guides properly positioned for the paper width?
If too narrow, ejection defects or paper jam may occur.
Perform adjustments using the [Folding Side Guide position fine adjustment key]. (
Refer to page 59.)
Is the height of the saddle stitching guide appropriate?
Adjust so that it is higher than the paper thickness. (
Refer to page 66.)
If the sets stop in front of the saddle stitching stacker, move the folding back guide forward using the [Folding Back
Guide position fine adjustment key]. (
Refer to page 60.)
When stacking is uneven on the side stitching stacker
Adjust the stacker guide position according to the paper size.
If the leading edge of the set is caught by the stitches of the sets ejected first, adjust the position of the stopper
smaller than the paper size.
When side (corner) stitched sets frequently ride onto the stopper
If side (corner) stitched sets frequently ride onto the stopper, slow down the feeding speed from the collator.
