13. TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom
Paper alignment on the side stitching
stacker is poor
Power On/Off is not linked to the
upstream unit
The message display shows “please
wait” and no further operations are
possible
Cannot start
The stitcher head is deviated from
the specified position.
Display does not advance from
paper size input screen.
No adjustments is carried out when
any key is pressed at the Fine
Adjustment screen.
Cause
Faulty adjustment of the side stitching
stopper position
Incorrect settings of the main power switch
and power switch
Power On/Off is not linked to the upstream
unit
Only the power of this machine was turned
ON
The upstream unit is not ready to start.
Error message is displayed
Size change is required
(Error message is displayed)
Cover was opened, or power was turned
Off while the stitcher head was moving
during size change.
In the middle of entering values
The entered value is inappropriate.
Fine adjustments not possible
Solution
Adjust the position of the side stitching
stopper.
Refer to “5-1. Power On” and set properly.
Normally the power On/Off of this machine
is operated at the upstream unit. Refer to
“5-1. Power On” and set properly.
Refer to the instruction manual for the
upstream unit.
Refer to “10. Error Messages” and correct
errors.
Perform the size change.
While pressing the [Clear key], press the
[Size Change key]. The stitcher head will
return to the home position first, and then
move to the intended position.
At this time, perform this operation again if
any motor error has occurred.
Complete entering values.
The values which can be entered are
limited according to the selected binding
mode. Refer to “5-3. Binding Settings”.
The adjustable range is limited to ± 5 mm/
± 0.20 inch from the position set at the
memory number. Enter the proper value,
and perform the size change again. And
then, carry out fine adjustments.
