2. Check/Add Oil to Engine
Engine: See engine Owner’s Manual for capacity and recommended oil type for your
expected ambient conditions.
3. Check tools, appliances, and cords
Before connecting any tool, appliance, or power cord to your generator, examine it closely.
Confirm that they are in good working order. Do not use electrical cords that are damaged, worn,
bare or frayed. This can cause electric shock.
Never exceed your generator’s maximum power rating. Confirm that the electrical rating of any
tool or appliance that you plug into your generator does not exceed your generator’s rating.
Note: Often you can find ratings near model or serial numbers on appliances and tools.
If an appliance operates abnormally, seems sluggish, or stops, immediately unplug it from your
generator. Then, determine the source of the problem such as an appliance that exceeds your
generator’s load capacity.
4. Stay within your generator’s power limit
Never overload your generator.
Confirm that any device you plug into your generator is single-phase 60Hz.
Never connect 50 Hz devices or three-phase loads to your generator.
Continuous output:
DG66M-R62 and DG66M-B62 are rated at 6,500 watts
DG67M-R62 and DG67M-B62 are rated at 7,000 watts
Maximum power:
DG66M-R62 and DG66M-B62 are rated at 7,800 watts
DG67M-R62 and DG67M-B62 are rated at 8,000 watts
Tools, appliances, and other electrical devices with power levels between the rated and maximum
levels should not be powered by your generator for more than five minutes.
Overloading your generator substantially could trigger its AC circuit protector. Exceeding the five
minute limit or slightly exceeding your generator’s capacity may not switch off your generator’s
AC circuit protector. However, doing either shortens your generator’s service life.
CAUTION:
Inadequate Lubrication Hazard
Never operate Generator with inadequate lubricant in the engine. This will cause
overheating and severe damage to the engine.
Plugging faulty power cords and appliances
into your generator can cause electric shock.
