TAKING CARE OF UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS
Engine Will Not Start
Possible Cause
Correction
1. Check control positions
Fuel valve lever OFF.
Turn lever ON.
Choke OPEN.
Move to CLOSED
Engine switch OFF.
Turn engine switch to ON.
2. Check fuel
Out of fuel.
Refuel (p.18).
Bad fuel; generator stored without
treating or draining gasoline, or refueled
with bad gasoline.
Drain fuel tank and carburetor
(p.27).Refuel with fresh
gasoline(p.18).
3. Check engine oil level.
Low oil level caused Oil Alert to stop
engine.
Add oil (p.20). Turn engine switch to
OFF and restart the engine.
4. Remove and inspect spark
plug.
Spark plug faulty, fouled, or improperly
gapped.
Gap, or replace spark plug (p.23).
Spark plug wet with fuel (flooded engine).
Dry and reinstall spark plug.
5. Take generator to an
authorized

Fuel filter restricted, carburetor
malfunction, ignition malfunction, valves
stuck etc.
Replace or repair faulty components
as necessary.
Engine Lacks Power
