DC 1800/2800 H EX - 12
Part No 94169-B

Safety Considerations
CAUTION! Do not use the machine until you have read
the operating instructions. Read and note these instruc-
tions before you operate the machine. Information,
instructions and training in the use of the dust-extraction
machine and the dusts to be separated should be
obtained before use. The machine may only be used by
authorised personnel who are familiar with the provi-
sions of Directive 1999/92/EC.
The machine should be used in
Zone 22
or outside of
explosive zones (air/
fl
ammable dust) in areas in which
an explosive atmosphere in the form of combustible
clouds of dust in the air is unlikely to occur during
normal operation, but if it does occur, is only for a short
period.
Warning!
When using electrical machinery, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce the
risk of
fi
re, electric shock and personal injury, including
the following:
X. The supplied connector is only intended for con-
nection outside the zone. Standard CEE wall
sockets and Schuko-type earthed sockets are not
permissible in Zone 22. The machine must therefo-
re be connected to the mains power supply outside
of Zone 22.
1.
Important!
The machine is provided with a sticker “Do not pick
up sources of ignition” (symbol as in Figure CC.1 of
EN 60335-2-69). No hot, glowing particles or other
sources of ignition must be picked up. The machine
should not be used for explosive, unstable or self-
igniting particles or dusts with a minimum ignition
energy (MIE) < 3mJ.
Machines approved for zone 22 are not suitable for
picking up dusts and liquids with a high explosion
risk or mixtures of combustible dusts with liquids,
and are not suitable for picking up potentially explo-
sive or equivalent substances in the meaning of the
Directive 1994/9/EC .
– WARNING! The machine may only be operated
by persons who have received adequate instruction
in its use.
– WARNING! This machine should only be used for
the suction and removal of dry dusts.
– CAUTION This machine must only be used in-
doors.
– CAUTION The machine must be stored indoors.
– CAUTION For dusts with an ignition energy below
1 mJ, further restrictions imposed by the Occupa-
tional Health and Safety Authorities may apply.
– CAUTION The machine is not suitable for con-
nection to a dust-generating machine.
2. Consideration for environmental in
fl
uences
The machine must not be exposed to rain. The
machine must not be used in a damp or wet en-
vironment and must not be used in the vicinity of
fl
ammable liquids or gases.
3. Overload
Never let the machine operate fully throttled, as this
poses a risk of overheating (pressure gauge needle
is in the red zone). Always follow the regulations
pertinent to the material you are working with. Do
not use the machine for purposes for which it is not
intended.
4. Bodily
injury
Never let the suction come into contact with any
part of the body. The strong suction effect can
damage the blood vessels in the skin. Do not at-
tempt to repair the electrical components yourself.
The machine should only be serviced by quali
fi
ed
personnel. Any mistake may result in injury. See
also below under “Warnings”.
5. Do not abuse the power cord
Never pull the machine by its power cord. Keep
the power cord away from heat and sharp edges.
Check potential equalisation cables, electrical
cables and electrical equipment before use. The
machine must not be used if any part is damaged.
No extension leads, plug-in cable connectors or
adapters should be used for connection to the
mains supply.
6. Important
information
Disconnect the power cable from the mains before
cleaning or performing maintenance on the ma-
chine. Servicing should never be performed inside
the zone. The dust container should be emptied as
required, and in any case after each use. The ma-
chine may only be operated if all
fi
lters are in place
and undamaged.
7. Care of the machine
Keep the machine clean and free of dust deposits.
Check that the hose is undamaged and that all
seals are intact. Follow all instructions. Keep han-
dles dry and free of oil and grease.
8
Checking for damage
Always check the machine carefully for damage
before use. Any damaged parts should be repaired
by a Dustcontrol authorised service centre.
If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
quali
fi
ed persons, in order to avoid a hazard. The
mains cord must only be replaced with the speci-
fi
ed type.
9.
Transportation
The container must be emptied before the machine
is transported. The front wheel has a brake that
should always be locked when the machine is sta-
tionary.
10. Warnings
Only use accessories approved by the manufactur-
