5.3.2 ALTITUDE SIMULATION PRINCIPLE
Where packs are likely to be shipped at an elevated altitude it is of benefit to determine if the pack
material and manufacturing process are satisfactory and that the pack can withstand the stress.
Subjecting the pack to a simulated altitude of 9000Ft (for ground) or 16,000Ft (for pressurised air)
transportation should be considered. The LeakVIEW system can be employed to apply the stresses
generated by the change in pressure due to a change in altitude.
