The DynaWrite Keyboard
The DynaWrite keyboard is equipped with standard keyboard commands such as
backspace, escape, space, tab, caps lock, delete, shift and enter. In addition, this
device features customized keyboard commands which allow users quick access to
DynaWrite tools and functions. This chapter alphabetically lists all of the
DynaWrite command keys and describes their individual attributes.
BeKey/ECU.
The
BeKey
provides access to the DynaWrite’s
Be the Keyboard
feature. This feature enables you to use your DynaWrite as a computer keyboard.
Keystrokes are transferred through a USB cable connection or via DynaBeam
Access. If you have not already selected a port for this connection, a
Select Port
window will open when you select the
BeKey/ECU
key. You may also choose
which type of connection you want to use for the
Be the Keyboard
mode in the
Keyboard Controls
menu. Once this selection has been made and a connection is
established between your DynaWrite device and your computer, the DynaWrite
keyboard will become active as a computer keyboard.

In
Be the Keyboard
mode, the DynaWrite keyboard can only be used to send
keystrokes to a computer. The Message Window will be covered by a
Be the
Keyboard
window which will inform you that keystrokes are being sent
to the computer (see
Figure 6
).
