Menu 2:
Speech Controls
The
Speech Controls
menu includes tools for customizing the way your
DynaWrite device speaks. With the features of this menu, you can select the
voice, volume, rate, pronunciation exceptions, and other details of DynaWrite
speech.
OK (Alt + O).
Selecting the
OK
button accepts any new changes to the
Speech Controls
menu, closes the menu and returns you to the
Main
menu.
Cancel (Alt + C).
Selecting the
Cancel
button closes the
Speech Controls
menu and returns you to the
Main
menu without saving any new changes.
Voice (Alt + V).
The
Voice
combo box lets you select an individual voice
from the list of voices available on your speech synthesizer. Once the
combo box is active, you can use the up and down arrow keys on your
keyboard to highlight a voice.
Speech rate (Alt + R).
The
Speech rate
slider can be adjusted to set the rate
in words per minute that the DynaWrite speaks. Once the slider is active,
use the right and left arrow buttons on your keyboard to adjust its position.
Moving the slider to the right, toward
Fast
, will increase the words per
minute rate. To decrease this rate, move the slider left, toward
Slow
.
Volume (Alt + M).
The
Volume
slider can be adjusted to increase or
decrease the volume at which the DynaWrite speaks. Once the slider is
active, use the right and left arrow buttons on your keyboard to adjust its
