INSTALLATION
Before installing the D-Lok bearings, please take a moment to read these instructions
for proper installation and operation procedures. To ensure safety and accuracy in the
procedures, perform the procedures as they are described.
You will need to provide a long hex bit socket to tighten the bearing screws to the
torque specifications.
• hex bit socket: 1/4-inch
• minimum bit length: 1 1/2-inch or longer
Use the following instructions to install the bearings.

Clean the shaft and bearing bore thoroughly.

Slip the bearing into position. Verify the bearing is not on a worn section of the
shaft.

For tighter fits, tap inner ring face only with a soft driver. Do not hammer on
housing.

Torque hold-down bolts to 54 ft.-lb. (73.2 Nm).

Turn the shaft by hand. Resistance to turning should be the same as before full
tightening of hold-down bolts.

Verify the collar is square and tight against the shoulder on the inner ring.

Torque the cap screw to 15 ft.-lb. (20.3 Nm).

UBRICATION
Bearing lubrication is very important for continued operation and long life.
Under steady use, over 25 runs per day, each bearing should receive .65oz (19 ml) of a
recommended grease every 2 months.
Under occasional use, less than 25 runs per day, each bearing should receive .65oz
(19 ml) of a recommended grease every six months.
Recommended Grease:
High Speed Operation—In the higher speed ranges, too much grease will cause over-
heating. If excess grease in the bearing causes overheating, it will be necessary to
remove grease fitting to permit excess grease to escape. The bearing has been greased
at the factory and is ready to run. When establishing a lubrication schedule, note that
a small amount of grease at frequent intervals is preferable to a large amount at
infrequent intervals.
