4 Normal Operations
4.1 General
Although operation of the primary functions of the SkyView HDX system is intuitive, it does
require a reasonable degree of familiarity to utilize all its functions without compromising
attention to other flying tasks. Users are encouraged to read the
SkyView Pilot's User Guide
thoroughly before flight and to take advantage of the training videos available on
Knobs and Buttons
Knobs are located on the left and right sides of the display. They can be rotated both directions
and pushed. The current knob function is indicated by the "soft" label above the knob. Knob
function is contextual and can change when the contents of the screen are changed by the pilot
(see
).
Eight buttons are located across the bottom of each display. The area immediately above the
buttons is the Main Menu, which shows "soft" labels that identify the function of each button.
Buttons have different functions depending on the information being shown on the display. The
labels for each button on the Main Menu will change accordingly (see
).
