3.6 Operation / Function

Display of the last service of the SVE and the version number of the operating

• To switch off the blower, press the operating button for about two seconds.

Filter information:
In case of a battery, filter, or blower warning at the start of the SVE, the SVE will turn off itself automatically after
20 seconds or by pressing the operating button.
Every warning during operation has to be confirmed by pushing the operation button shortly. There might be
another display of error after 20 seconds!
3.6.2 Warning Symbols
A blower warning is display as soon as a misconduct of the blower is recognised; for example
loss of the cable, obstacles in the airflow, unusual power consumption of the blower, or the use
of not specified blower.
- In case of blower warning:
- A permanent acoustic signal sounds.
- The warning symbol blinks on the display.
Action: Immediately stop working, leave the area, and check the equipment.

Blower warning
A filter warning occurs when there is no filter in the respiratory mask or the filter is too dirty and
the minimum airflow cannot be reached.
Also, a filter warning occurs when a filter is too dirty during operation.
The filter warnings are displayed for the respective filter (SVE in full-face mask mode does not
gives a warning).
- In case of filter warning:
- A permanent acoustic signal sounds.
- The filter-warning symbol blinks on the display.
Confirm the filter warning; when the warning occurs repeated, leave the hazardous area.
Action: Immediately stop working, leave the area, and exchange the filter.
b) Filter warning
The error message is displayed when the battery is almost completely empts or a commu-
nication problem between SVE and battery controller occurred.
If falling below the remaining operating time of 15 minutes, this error message is displayed.
- In case of battery warning:
- A permanent acoustic signal sounds.
- The battery-warning symbol blinks on the display.
The batter-warning symbol blinks permanently, also the permanent acoustic signal sounds
discontinuously, until only about 3% are left to the complete discharging of the battery.
Afterwards, the SVE turns off automatically.
Action: Immediately stop working, leave the area, and exchange/charge the SVE/battery.

The device is powered up by pushing the operating button at the front of the SVE, a acoustic signal
sounds. The check is conducted in this phase. If an error occurs in this phase, it is displayed premature-
ly at the screen.
- After 2 seconds, the screen changes automatically into the main menu. The adjusted airflow is dis-
played in the lower area of the screen; 140 l/min for one-filter or full-face mask operation, 95 l/min for
two-filter operation.
In the upper area of the screen, the battery capacity is displayed in hours and minutes, as well as the
remaining time of the ventilator.
- Green bars: battery capacity between 100-60%
- Yellow bar(s): battery capacity between 60-20%
- Red bars: battery capacity lower than 20%
- Blinking red + acoustic signal = 15 minutes left to leave the hazardous area
- The blower starts in normal operating mode with 140 l/min = one-filter operation, full-face mask
operation, or with 95 l/min = two-filter operation
