OVERVIEW
The IDR IDO 3G is an adjustable frequency duplex one-channel radio base station.
It has the following advantages:
• mobility:
- can be carried by one person,
- rack or standalone version,
- can be installed in a building or vehicle,
- reduced bulk,
- short installation and commissioning time,
• autonomy:
- powered by mains supply or external DC,
- operates outside BS-connected network coverage,
• easy to use.
The IDR IDO 3G can be used autonomously or to temporarily complement coverage of a
TETRAPOL fixed network.
It is particularly well suited to exceptional situations requiring a very short reaction time,
e.g. during operations in places where normal coverage is insufficient.
Two IDR IDO 3G may be interconnected via the IDR IDO 3G IP interface and the use of
routers. The link may be established between the IDR IDO 3G via standard IP networks or
satellite link.
The IDR IDO 3G is initialised with a licence file enabling data transmission in IDR mode for
the terminals and/or interconnection of the IDR IDO 3G.
This licence file is managed by the TPS (see Document [1]) and is transmitted to the
IDR IDO 3G during its configuration.
The installation, commissioning/decommissioning, configuration and control of the
IDR IDO 3G are described in Chapter 3.
