Installation safety precautions
This section must be read before the IDR IDO 3G is installed.
The installation must be carried out by a qualified, approved person.
No operations other than those described in this manual must be carried out.
The IDR
IDO 3G is powered according to the site configuration. The safety related to the
energy distribution must be respected (see Section 4.1.2).
3.2.2
Installation procedures
The IDR
IDO 3G rack can only be installed following radio-electric propagation tests to
define the best site location, if installed in premises (see Section 1.3, Document [2]).
The IDR
IDO 3G rack must be stood alone or installed in a cabinet or technical premises.
3.2.3
Connections
• Check that the “I/O” switch (see Plate 6.IV, item 2 or 9) on the front panel is at “O”.
• If the antenna is dismantled, screw the antenna strand (see Plate 6.VII, item 10) to its
magnetic socket.
• Connect the antenna cable to the duplexer's N "ANT coaxial socket (item 4).
• Connect the power supply and earth cables to the available power supplies on site:
- earth cable (item 6) (not supplied) between a suitable earth (vehicle chassis, for
example) and the earth stud (item 5),
and
- mains power supply cable (item 7) between the mains and the primary convertor's
or
- DC source power supply cable (item 8) (not supplied) between an external DC
source and the fuse supports ("+" red wire, "-" black wire) of the DC primary
convertor power supply cable (item 9) then this DC primary convertor power supply
cable to the “12-24V IN” connector on the primary convertor (item 12).
- Install the antenna with magnetic socket (item 10).
This must be installed on a ferrous metal based support and in a clear area.
For the use of any other antennae, take the usage precautions and call on an
approved installer.
- If used, connect the remote alarm cable (item 3) with the female connector (item 2) to
the “ALARM” connector (item 1).
