Input/Output Connection Descriptions
#2 REVERSE LOOP Input:
Momentary or continuous signal - This input is
active only when the gate is closing or when its fully open, if this input is
active. The close timer is disabled. Vehicle loop detectors and photo sensors
should be connected here. Multiple devices may be connected in parallel.
#3 KEY Input:
Close Timer ON
- Momentary or continuous signal - Once activated, the
gate will fully open. Activation while the gate is closing will cause
the gate to re-open. Continuous activation while the gate is open will
disable the close timer from automatically closing the gate.
Close Timer OFF
- Momentary input - This function must be released and reentered to be recognized. This input is to be used for
COMMAND OPEN / COMMAND CLOSE applications. The first signal will cause the gate to begin opening. The second signal will close the
gate only when the gate is in the fully open position.
Exit
Loop:
Momentary or continuous signal - Once activated, the gate will fully open. Activation while the gate is closing will cause the gate
to re-open. Continuous activation while the gate is open will disable the close timer from automatically closing the gate.
#4 M-FCN (Multi function) Input:
Two Multi function switches need to be set according to type of connection desired.

#5 MAGLOCK/24VDC Output:
Provides 24 VDC power and relay output for Maglocks or Solenoids.
#6 ALARM/12VDC Output:
Factory installed alarm. If the gate hits an obstruction
TWICE
in a row while closing or opening, the alarm will
sound and system will shut down for 5 minutes if not manually reset. Press reset button or turn power switch OFF and back ON to reset
operator.
#7 POWER/24VAC Output:
Provides 24 VAC power. Used to power loop detectors or radio receivers.
EDGE SENSOR (External Entrapment Device(s), multiple devices may be connected in parallel to the
Edge Sensor Input):
Momentary or continuous signal - This signal is active when the gate is OPENING
and/or CLOSING.
If activated when the gate is OPENING: (entrapment protection)
The gate will stop, pause and
reverse in the close direction for 1 1/2 seconds and stop. Continuous activation will prevent the gate from
moving in the opening direction. If the second activation occurs before the limit switch is activated, the
gate will stop and reverse direction for 1 1/2 seconds and stop. Thus activating the ALARM. At this point,
the operator must be manually reset (Reset button or Power switch OFF/ON) before normal operation can
resume.
Check for obstructions before resetting operator.
If activated when the gate is CLOSING:
The gate will stop, pause and fully re-open. During this
mode, the timer to close, reverse loop, exit loop are disabled. The key/keypad and receiver will cause the
gate to close if a second activation occurs before the limit switch is activated. The gate will stop and
reverse direction for 1 1/2 seconds and stop again, thus activating the ALARM. At this point, the operator
must be manually reset (Reset button or Power switch OFF/ON) before normal operation can resume.
Check for obstructions before resetting operator.
PHANTOM LOOP (SHADOW LOOP):
Not used for slide gate operators.
STOP (Normally Closed):
Momentary or continuous signal - This function OVERRIDES all other signals.
Once momentarily activated, the gate will immediately stop and wait for a new command.
If the stop input is continuously activated, the gate will not move. This is used as a “stop button” for
doors built into the gate. When the door is OPEN, door switch is Normally Closed (NC), the gate operator
will
NOT
function.
CLOSE:
Momentary or continuous signal - Once activated the gate will FULLY CLOSE. This is used as a
close button connection ONLY (single-push button, dry contact). If close timer is ON, this input will
override close timer setting.
