Assemble The Top Frame

Assemble the top frame using 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” pressure-treated material. You will need two
boards cut to 12’ that will be the rim joist and two boards cut to 8' that will be the joist.

For the corners, use an overlapping joint.

Using 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" pressure-treated material, cut inner joist and assemble using the
illustrations below as a reference.

Secure the beams and studs with 2x5" wood screws.

Using a speed square or carpenter's square, check the corners to make sure
they are 90 degrees.
