Installation
4.1
Preliminary Installation Information
WARNING
Installation should be performed only by qualified personnel knowledgeable of batteries and the
required precautions.
Observe these precautions while installing the Integrated Battery Cabinet (IBC–SW):
l
Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects.
l
Use tools with insulated handles.
l
Wear rubber gloves and boots.
l
Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries or battery cabinets.
l
Refer to Chapter 3 for cabinet dimensions and weight, wiring and terminal data, and installation notes.
l
Do not tilt the cabinets more than 10
during installation.
4.2
Unloading the IBC–SW Cabinet from the Pallet
DANGER
RISK OF INSTABILITY. Do not remove any internal panels until the cabinet is removed from and
lowered from the pallet.
WARNING
The IBC–SW is heavy (see Table 3-1). If unpacking and unloading instructions are not closely
followed, the cabinet may tip and cause serious injury.
CAUTION
l
Do not tilt cabinet more than 10° from vertical.
l
Lift the cabinets only with a forklift or pallet jack or damage may occur.
NOTE
For the following procedures, verify that the forklift or pallet jack is rated to handle
the weight of the cabinet (see Table 3-1 for cabinet weight).
