The Eaton 5130 UPS includes a USB port, a RS-232 communication port,
and a bay for an optional communication card. The USB and RS-232
ports cannot operate simultaneously.
USB Port
The UPS can communicate with a USB-compliant computer using
LanSafe
®
Power Management Software or other HID-compliant power
management software compatible with Microsoft
®
Windows
®
2000 and
XP operating systems that support HID devices.
NOTE
The latest versions of the LanSafe Power Management Software and the USB
firmware are available at www.eaton.com/powerquality.
To establish communication between the UPS and a computer:
1.
The USB port is hot-pluggable. Connect the USB cable to the USB
port on the UPS rear panel (see Figure 20).
Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on your
computer.
