4  Unit operation

4.1  Data and audio communications

4.1.1  PA/GA mounted using CAT6A cabling

When the Pbx is installed as an integral component

within the cabinet, it connects to the 2Mx matrix

controller via the IO bus. These are identified by the blue

CAT 6A cables which are connected between the rear of

the 2Mx and RJ45 connectors on the Pbx.

Each pair of CAT 6A cables provides a bidirectional data

& audio connection from the 2Mx to the Pbx. In the

event of either one of a pair of RJ45 cable becoming

disconnected the data & audio have a redundant path

ensuring the Pbx will continue to operate without any

loss of functionality. A flashing IO fault is logged on the

2Mx status display to warn of the fault and differentiate

it from any other internal cable loop fault.

4.1.2  PA/GA mounted using isolated audio and key line

cabling

When the Pbx is installed as a peripheral component,

it is connected to the IO-Tu and uses one of the lo-

unit’s audio & key line inputs. This allows the unit to be

situated inside the PAGA cabinet or outside with the

PABX system and connected using a 2 twisted pair +

screen cable.

4.2  Unit Status

The unit reports system status on the front panel LEDs.

The LED’s are grouped in pairs and generally shows up

to four states:

•

Green on, Red off – healthy

•

Red on, Green off – fault condition.

•

Green on, slow flashing Red – healthy, fault cleared

•

Green off, fast flashing Red – connection issues

ote:

N

Not all states are relevant for each pair of LEDs and some indi-

vidual LEDs may flash for specific functions (see the details below).

4.2.1  Power

The power LED is a simple power active indicator.
