12.5.2 Retrieving Configuration - Important Notes
There are a few important aspects to the configuration retrieval process that should
be noted: -

Every panel that was been previously configured with xDetectWorks is given a
unique identifier. This ensures that when you perform a retrieval, the correct panel
in xDetectWorks is updated, regardless of any panel address changes. This means
it is possible that if you have a specific panel selected in the tree view when doing
a retrieval, a different panel in the tree view is overwritten.

The matrix and group information is held by all panels, as this is considered a
network wide configuration. When performing a retrieval, the matrices and groups
are always updated in the local site file. For this reason, the user should be careful
to avoid downloads from panels if the matrix or group data has been modified.
Ideally, the user should avoid downloads from panel networks after they are
fully commissioned.
