6.2.1
Changing the IP address in Windows 2000/ Windows XP
The IP address is changed in the "Control Panel" in "Network and Dial-up Connections":

Open the folder "Local Area Connection" and open the dialog "Local Area Connection Prop-
erties" via the button "Properties" in the dialog "Local Area Connection Status".

Mark "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and press the "Properties"-button to open the dialog
"Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties".

Activate "Use the following IP address" and assign an IP address of the network mentioned
above to the PC/ Network interface card (see the following figure).
