Limitations on liability for
defects of quality
The liability for defects of quality shall lapse
under the following conditions:
•
unauthorised or inappropriate use of/damage
to the Pedelecs (traffic accident, fall).
•
damage which is attributable to normal wear
of parts such as tyres, the chain, bowden
controls and brake shoes.
•
damage to the paint or chrome due to the
effects of weather, moisture and ambient
conditions (particularly salty air) as well
as aggressive environments containing
ammonia.
•
deficient maintenance of the Pedelec (in
deviation from the specifications described
in these operating instructions.
•
repairs which were not performed by a
bicycle specialist.
•
modifications of the drive system which
exceed the framework set forth by the
technical standard specification.
•
structural modifications to the Pedelec which
deviate from its condition upon delivery.
This particularly applies to the drive battery.
Any modifications lead to the lapse of the
warranty!
•
breakage of the electrical conductor which is
not attributable to design errors.
•
defects caused by extraneous force.
•
damage caused by the use of the Pedelec at
competitions.
•
use of the drive battery in a manner
which is not compliant with the attendant
specifications .
Assertion of liability for defects of quality
•
In the event of damage, please consult
your bicycle dealer. This is your competent
contact person at any time.
Disclaimer for defects of quality
•
Excluded from liability for defects of quality:
personal injury or damage to any parts of
your Pedelec which are not original parts
(insofar as legally permissible).
•
The performance of repair work neither
extends nor renews the warranty on the
product as a whole.
Start-up of the Pedelec
The following chapters of the user manual of
the Pedelec presume that all basic ergonomic
settings and necessary safety checks of your
bike have already been done:
•
Handle bar and seat have been brought
to the desired position and tightened
appropriately.
•
The wheels have sufficient tyre pressure and
their axle nuts have been tightened too.
•
The function of the brakes and pedal drive
has been checked.
•
The lighting system is functioning.
For more information refer to the Chapter
“Adjustments before ride”.
Initial operation of the drive battery
Now, remove the drive battery from the acceptor
on the bottom tube. insert the locking device
(insofar as this has not been performed by your
dealer).
Check the charging status of the battery. To do
this, press the knob at the LED display on the
top side of the battery. Refer to Figure
Now check the charging state of the
battery by pressing the key on the LED-
charging status display. If less than two
LEDs or no LED lights up, the battery may
be damaged. In this case please contact
your dealer.
