ED-3 SP Pedelec with Lithium-ion battery
GB
The key can be removed in both the
locked and unlocked position! PanTerra™
recommends that the key is always
removed! This ensures that neither can
the lock accidently open by itself with the
battery falling out nor can the key be lost.
The Pedelec is now ready to go!
Charging an maintenance of the battery
The ED-3 Pedelec drives with a 36V 8.8 Ah
battery. High quality cells are used. Which are
connected to a 36V cell pack. Above this the
battery has a safety electronic which prevents
deep discharge and overcharging.
Avoid the storage of a complete empty battery
over weeks. Always use the supplied high
quality Lit-Ion Battery charger to charge your
battery.
The original charger operates using CC-CV4
technology. In conjunction with the battery’s
electronic protection system, the possibility of
any damage occurring to the battery at any time
can therefore be ruled out as can any possibility
of overcharging through an incorrect charging
current. The charger is for indoor use only!
Please read the charger manual attached prior
to initial use.
Remove the charger (see graphic) from the box,
loosen the bundle of cables and connect it to
the multi-pole charging socket located on the
side of the battery. A rubber cover
protects it from spray.
The battery can also be charged on the
bicycle.
Connect the charger to the battery.
The LED on the charger will change from green
to red. The charging starts. If the battery pack
is nearly full (90%), the LED change from red to
flashing green. The first charging phase (CC =
Constant Current) is completed. It starts the CV
phase (constant voltage). A full charge can take
up to 8 hours. CC-CV loading means in practice
that completed after about 90% of the charge
is 5h. For the remaining 10% capacity for about
3 hours charging time in CV mode required
(current 2A charger). The battery can also be
charged on the bike. After the loading process,
the LED changes to a steady light. There is now
a place cell balancing. The battery pack can
indeed be taken any time by the loader, but it is
recommended every 10th Time to make a full
load and allow for green LED continuous light
from 2hrs still balancing the cells.

CC-CV = Constant Current – Constant Voltage:
Controlled current strength is first used to charge
quickly and the battery voltage increases. On
approaching the maximum capacity, the current
strength is reduced and the remaining capacity is filled
only with exact maximum specified voltage.
