Re-fuelling after starting
The re-loading should be of 2 further batches of 1.8kg of dry split logs at each re-fuelling (see page 18).
Smoke may escape from the top of the doors opening until the stove has thoroughly warmed to 150
˚
-
200˚C
when the appliance is being re-fuelled. Run for a few minut
es if the stove has reached 150˚C
to
ensure combustion of the new fuel has begun, where upon the stoves temperature will normally
continue to rise.
Over firing warning
Never over fill the fire box, is 1.8kg or so of split logs a typical full load.
Running the stove above 200
˚C
constitutes over firing the stove and after which point damage may occur to the stove.
Under firing warning
If when re-firing; re-fuelling or lighting the Ecco stove, it must be fired up to 150
˚
C
to 200˚C
for each new
wood load for proper combustion
–
i
f allowed to “tick over” below this temperature tar build up will
occur and subsequent blocking of the flue ways.
13. CATALYSER
–
The 730EC
2
is fitted with a Catalyser in the head of the stove above the tube baffle
system
To install or replace/reinstall the catalyser; prior to fitting the tube baffle system; lift the catalyser up
into place followed by the stainless support frame.
Drop the stainless steel support frame down flat and the catalyser drops into the rectangular slot of the
frame.
The catalyser can be viewed through the front left and right cleaning plugs and should be in a clean non
sooty state after any third fuel load on a warm up run.
13a. MAINTENANCE
The catalyser will need replacing after two years or so use and witnessed by a breakdown of the cream
coloured squares which will appear cracked / not clean cream after third fuel load.
The Catalyser will gather dust and needs checking / cleaning 2 monthly
Bimonthly remove the pins and lower the underside baffle; vacuum the catalytic honeycomb (catalyser)
carefully and rehinge baffle and re-pin into place.
13b. REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
The tubed baffle system must be lowered by removing the steel pins fitted either side of the door frame
beneath the curved edge of the baffle system.
Remove the catalyser by pulling gently down and out of place
