USING THE APPLIANCE
Toasting bread
The fi rst use of the appliance may be accompanied by
a slight odour or smoke, caused by burning off the dust
on the new heating element. We recommend therefore to
switch on the appliance for the fi rst time without inserting
any bread. We recommend that you set the browning
control to medium during this procedure.
1.
Plug the appliance into the electrical outlet.
2. Insert in the slots slices of bread of equal size, equal
thickness and equally fresh. Avoid inserting tattered
or broken slices, which could become stuck in the
mechanism of the toaster.
3.
Set the control
3
to the required degree of browning
from 1 to 6 (1: the lightest, 6: the most brown).
Diff erent types of bread require diff erent settings. The
higher the setting, the longer is the time of browning.
