What you need to know about slices of
bread/rolls
Type of bread, its moistness, content, age, thickness and
number of heels. All of this aff ects the browning setting.
The bread slices toasted in the same time should be of
the same kind, contain the same level of moisture and
be of the same age (the bread should be kept in a closed
container). Always keep sliced bread, intended for toasting
purposes, in a dry area.
The overall thickness of bread slices should not exceed
2.5 cm. Generally, it is necessary to toast the darker kinds
of bread on a higher level than the lighter kinds. To obtain
an especially light slice of bread, spray it lightly with water
prior to toasting. Very thin slices will not be centered
automatically and should be toasted at a lower browning
setting to prevent one side of the bread from becoming
burnt.
