Revision E
After 3 incorrect attempts to enter the PIN, the user will have to use the PUK number to reset
the PIN of the SIM card.
•
SIM Lock PIN:
Use up to 8 digits to lock the terminal to the current SIM card. The PIN code will
have to be entered any time a different SIM card is used with the terminal. There is no limit on
the number of attempts to enter the PIN. However, there is no PUK equivalent code to recover
the PIN. If the PIN is forgotten, the user must return the terminal to factory conditions to reset
the PIN.
•
Local Access Password:
This password blocks all local access to the terminal including WebUI,
the AT command interface and the telnet/SSH access. The password must be enabled on the
WebUI after a 15 minutes inactivity timeout. Alternatively, the terminal can be immediately
lock
ed by pressing the “Lock Terminal” button on the Security Passwords page after the feature
is enabled. The user will be given a total of 5 attempts to correctly enter the Password. After all
attempts are exhausted, the terminal must be rebooted in order to make more attempts.

changed by unauthorized users once the terminal is configured properly. Once enabled, this
password will have to be entered before any settings can be changed. The pop-up shown below
will come up if the Password is enabled and the user attempts to change a protected
configuration parameter.
