DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1.
EPG
MENU
The
key gives access to the EPG menu, where you control the timers and view the
information in the Electronic Program Guide.
The EPG menu makes use of the EPG, i-key and the color keys on your Remote Control Unit to
allow for quick access to the different EPG and timer functions. The help line shows you which
color keys are active for the selected EPG menu. When the EPG menu shows:
■
The
(Red) key gives access to the EPG-supported timers.
■
The
(Green) key gives, if available from the service provider, access to the scheduled
program information which can be available for a few hours up until 14 days in advance.
■
The
(Blue) key gives access to the technical channel information.
■
The
key gives, if available from the service provider, access to the detailed program
information of the current selected program. Sometimes the information is not directly available,
if necessary allow the receiver to collect the detailed program information.
NOTE
Most digital channels broadcast program data as an EPG. Digital channels that broadcast EPG
offer you program information in advance for a certain period of time. The EPG information is
not always available. Sometimes the service provider supplies only the program name, the now/
next information or sometimes nothing at all. EchoStar has no influence on this matter.
CAUTION
The timer does not start or program your video cassette recorder (VCR). You also have to set
the timer of your VCR to the same time as on the timer. Please refer to the user guide of your
VCR how to make a recording from an external receiver.
Press the i-key for detailed information.
Press the red key to set EPG-supported timer.
Press the blue key for technical channel info.
