33. Verification
of
outputs
•
Connect the CD player to the unit’s SESSION input (21).
•
Connect an amplifier to the mixer’s OUT 1 (RCA-type) output (19).
•
Verify the correct sweep and performance of the LEVEL potentiometer (31).
•
Verify the +6dB gain control switch (6), located on the unit’s rear panel. When activated
(switched downwards), the output level is boosted with 6dB.
•
Verify the L+R selection switch (5), located at the unit’s rear panel. Activate it (switch
downwards). When one of the input channels is now disconnected, the unit’s output
channels carry the same signal (L=R), as their output level drops in 6dB.
•
Verify the OUT 1 (BAL) output (18,17). Check that this output depends of the functions set
by selector switches (5 and 6).
•
Verify the OUT 2 output (20). Standard level is 0dB (+6dB, when internally configured).
•
Verify the LEVEL potentiometer sweep (32)
•
Verify the SEND output (14).
34.
Verify the SCRATCH CUE function.
•
CROSSFADER (49), slide it to its center position.
•
Connect the CD player to the unit’s Channel 1 LINE input (13).
•
The music signal should be available through the headphones (60) and through the unit’s
OUT 1 output (19).
•
Press the SCRATCH CUE function pushbutton (36).
•
Check that the orange CH1-CH2 led (46) lights up, and also the red ON-indicating led (37).
•
The VU-meter should only light up the led-bar corresponding to CH1.
•
Slide the crossfader in any direction (left or right), until the led (37) switches to green. Check
that when this happens, the crossfader function is only operative through the headphones.
•
Release the SCRATCH CUE pushbutton (36). Led (37) turns orange.
•
Move the crossfader in any direction (left or right) until led (37) turns off. Check that the
crossfader has recovered its normal operation mode.
35.
Verify the signal send to the headphones.
•
Switch the FX/PGM/PFL function selector (35) to its middle position (PGM).
•
Connect a headphone set to any of the two PHONES sockets (60). Verify that both outputs
operate correctly.
•
Slide down FADER 1 to its minimum value.
•
The headphones should not carry audio signal.
•
Switch to PFL through the FX/PGM/PFL function selector (35), and verify that now the
headphones do carry audio signal, as the yellow indicating led (46) should light up.
•
The VU-meter should only light up the CH1 led bar.
•
When sliding the CH1-CH2 potentiometer (40) to the left (CH1), the output signal remains
present.
•
When sliding the CH1-CH2 potentiometer (40) to the right (CH2), the output signal
disappears.
•
When pressing PGM/REV (33), again the audio signal is available through the headphones.
•
Apply signal (music) through RETURN input (15).
•
Change the FX/PGM/PFL selection switch (35) to FX. Through the headphones, the signal
applied to the RETURN input should be available, and will be affected by the DRY-WET
function. Both led bars of the VU-meter are active. The LEFT-RIGHT indicating led (45)
should be on.
•
Verify the VOLUME control of the headphone section (PHONES).
•
Verify the MUTE function switch (54).
