Job Set-Up with UC-584 Antenna Coupler

A. Make aircraft safe for maintenance. Refer to

B. If on jacks, refer to

C. Connect external power. Refer to
AMM-24-40-00-051-801 – External Power -
Do not turn on START BATT and SYS BATT switches until
prompted.
D. Prepare Anti-ice system for maintenance. Refer to
AMM-20-00-03-051-801 – Prepare

E. Connect Antenna Coupler UC-584S to Aircraft upper Transponder Antenna as follows:
(as applicable)
NOTE: For Transponder–1 Adjustment/Test
, guiding antenna in to the slot on the
bottom of the coupler.
(2) Lock Antenna Coupler
into place by pushing lever on the side of the coupler into a
down and locked position.
NOTE: Coupler must be tightly pressed and locked in place for Test Set to function
correctly. Coupler will lock into place when the black rubber gasket is not
completely depressed against the aircraft, but the Test Set will not measure
functions accurately.
CAUTION: DO NOT CONNECT COAX CABLE TO IFR-6000 ANT PORT. DAMAGE
TO EQUIPMENT WILL OCCUR.
(3) Connect long RF coaxial cable
between the Antenna Coupler
and Test Set RF
I/O Connector.
CAUTION: THE RF COAXIAL CABLE CAN BE A TRIPPING HAZARD. MAKE
SURE TO SECURE THE CABLE. PERSONAL INJURY AND DAMAGE
TO THE ANTENNAS AND TEST EQUIPMENT COULD OCCUR.
(4) Temporarily secure the coaxial cable to the aircraft with tape. Tape can be removed
after the test is completed.
